Copper Brown - Organic Hair Color
Copper Brown
Colour Me Organic Premium
Certified Organic Hair Colour Powder · 3.5oz
The warmest shade in the range, made from seven organic herbs. No peroxide, no ammonia, no PPD. It processes for about an hour, then keeps developing for two to three days.
How much copper you see depends on where you start. On hair that is already light to mid brown, this reads as full copper. On dark brown or black hair it shows as warmth and red catching the light rather than a change of colour — plant pigment adds, it never lifts, and dark melanin is still underneath. It lands brightest of all on grey.
Keep it damp, start to finish. Shower cap while it processes; air-dry afterwards. Do not use a hair dryer at any point. Dry the paste and nothing transfers; dry the hair after rinsing and the colour stops developing. Both end the same way — darker, with no copper.

What "100% organic" means here
Not 99%, not 99.9% — every herb in the pouch is certified organic, and there is no base powder or carrier underneath them. Each shade is vacuum-sealed to slow oxidation before you open it, and shipped by air from our production facility in India so newer stock reaches you.
Shine Bright with Naturally Beautiful Copper Brown Hair
Copper is the tone that catches the most light, which is why the state of the surface matters more here than in any other shade. A conventional copper has to lift your own pigment out first, and a lifted cuticle scatters light instead of reflecting it — so the shine has to be added back afterwards, as a coating that washes off. Nothing was opened to put this colour there. The shine isn't something we added; it's the surface your hair already had, left where it was.
That is also why it holds. Henna's lawsone is bonded to keratin in the outer layers, so it wears as the hair wears rather than rinsing out through a cuticle that never closed.

How it differs from chemical colour
Conventional dye lifts your own pigment out and puts synthetic pigment in its place — and a copper needs more lifting than a dark shade does, not less. This one doesn't lift anything, so the cuticle stays shut and there is no damage to repair afterwards. That's the whole trade: it costs you the option of going lighter, and saves you everything that comes with it.
- Powder-based organic colour for men and women
- Certified organic by ECOCERT
- No peroxide, ammonia, PPD, parabens or synthetic pigment
- Colours grey brightly — process about 1 hour, final tone at 72 hours
- At-home application, no developer to mix
- Not suitable for anyone with a known indigo or plant-dye allergy — patch test first
What to expect over three days
- Right after rinsing — a faint green cast over the warmth. That's the indigo before it has met the air. Temporary.
- First 12 to 24 hours — the green clears and it goes bright. On grey especially, day one can look startling.
- Around day two — settles into the copper you keep. Judge your colour here, not before.
Copper Brown or Auburn Red?
Both are red-brown, and the difference is which way they lean. Copper Brown runs orange-gold — the warmer, brighter of the two, and the one that lights up most in the sun. Auburn Red runs deeper and truer red, with less gold in it.

Ingredients
Seven certified organic herbs, and nothing else — no base powder, no carrier, no synthetic pigment. These are the same seven plants as Brown and Dark Brown; what differs is the order. Ingredient lists run in order of quantity, and the one name to watch is amla, the acid that cools henna's orange. On Dark Brown it sits third. On Brown, fifth. Here it is last of seven. Three shades, one herb moving down the list, and the result runs warmer at every step. The least amla is the most copper left standing.
Important: this shade contains indigo, which a small number of people react to. Patch test before use, especially if you have sensitive skin or have reacted to plant dyes before. Stop use if irritation occurs. 100% organic. Made in India.
FAQ
Yes. Indigo is the first ingredient in this shade — it is what pulls the henna back from raw orange into copper. If you have a known indigo or plant-dye sensitivity, don't use it. If you're unsure, patch test and wait 48 hours.
That depends on where you start, and it is the most important thing to know before you buy. On hair that is already light to mid brown, this reads as full copper. On dark brown or black hair it shows as warmth and red catching the light — not as a change of colour — because plant pigment adds and never lifts, and your own dark melanin is still underneath. It lands brightest of all on grey, which has no melanin to compete with it. If your hair is dark and you want visible copper, no plant colour will give you that.
Two common causes. If your hair is dark to begin with, see the answer above: the copper is there but the melanin under it is winning. If your hair is lighter and it still came out flat, the usual culprit is drying. Warming the paste with a hair dryer while it processes dries it out, and dry paste transfers no pigment; blow-drying after the rinse stops the oxidation partway. A shower cap gives you the warmth without losing the moisture. Contact us either way and we'll work out which it was.
That is the indigo before it has met the air. It sits over the warmth for a day and then clears on its own. The colour then goes bright before it settles — on grey especially, day one can look startling — and the copper you keep arrives around day two. Judge your colour on day three.
Not while the paste is on, and not for the first 24 hours after rinsing. Warmth genuinely helps this colour along, which is why a shower cap works so well — it holds warmth and moisture together. A hair dryer gives you the warmth and takes the moisture, and moisture is what carries the pigment onto the fibre and lets the reaction finish. Air-dry only.
Typically 30–45 days, depending on your hair and how often you wash. Strong or clarifying shampoos, frequent washing and very hot water all shorten it. A gentle sulfate-free shampoo and lukewarm water help.
It colours grey brightly — brighter than the rest of your hair, because grey has no pigment of its own to mute it. On darker hair with greys coming through, that reads as copper highlights rather than uniform coverage. If you want even, solid grey coverage, a brown shade will give you more of it.
No. This is a non-oxidative plant colour with no peroxide or ammonia-type lightening agents, so it deposits colour rather than lifting your natural pigment. If you want a lighter result, you would need to start from a lighter base.
Tell us. First-time customers who don't get the result they expected can have a different shade sent free, or a full refund on the colour.
It's made from certified organic herbs with no synthetic additives, but any colour product can irritate some people, and indigo in particular causes reactions in a small number. Patch test before full application, especially with sensitive skin or a history of reactions to plant dyes. Stop use if irritation occurs.

The US Pouch
Ordered as Needed, Flown In, Shipped Fresh
Every pouch we sell is handled the same way, from the factory in India to your door, so that it reaches you as close to freshly made as we can manage — and so all 24 shades stay in stock.
Sealed at the factory
Dried, blended, vacuum-packed
The herbs are dried and blended at the factory and vacuum-sealed there, while the powder is fresh. Air is what ages plant powder — henna's pigment breaks down with oxygen, and air-exposed powder smells much stronger.
Flown in
By the pallet, by air
Each shade is ordered in units of 25, and the shades due for restocking are combined into a pallet of about 1,000 pouches, flown to Torrance, California — days in the air instead of months at sea.
Checked monthly
Each shade, on its own schedule
We check every shade's sales each month and forecast demand from our sales history, with the help of AI. When a shade drops below three to six months of stock, we order about a year to eighteen months' worth — enough to stay in stock, not so much that it sits.
18 months+
Left on every pouch we send
We ship the oldest stock first, and take any batch with less than 18 months left out of sale. Every order arrives with at least 18 months before its expiry date.
Applies to orders shipped by Radico USA. More on storage and dates →
