There are two ways to make a red gentle. One dilutes your hair to get there. Reddish Blonde dilutes the dye instead — the softness comes from the formula, not from anything done to the strand.

The whole shade turns on the balance between two hennas. Red henna brings the colour; colourless henna brings none — so the more of the colourless one in the mix, the softer the red lands. That single ratio is what sets Reddish Blonde apart from Auburn Red.

Chemical dye is done when you rinse. Plant colour keeps developing for a day or two after. Reddish Blonde is one of the easiest shades to wear — it comes up a soft reddish-gold right away and barely shifts from there.

Why this shade is so easy to live with
Henna\'s lawsone deepens a little as it oxidizes over the first two days — that\'s the small shift you\'ll notice. Because the henna is diluted with colourless henna and there\'s almost no indigo, none of the green-then-clear stage from the darker shades shows here. It comes up soft and stays soft, which is why it\'s an easy first step into red — there\'s very little that surprises people.
A stylist's trick: wake the paste up with acid
Henna releases its colour best in mildly acidic conditions. Mix the powder with a splash of apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice) in place of some of the water, then let the paste rest an hour or two before applying. The acid draws the lawsone out first, so more of it bonds to the hair — a warmer, longer-lasting result. Even in a soft shade like this, the difference is easy to see.

This is a forgiving shade. It arrives soft, warms a little, and holds — and because the colour is henna, it fades slowly and stays warm as it goes, rather than washing toward pink. When it softens over time, simply refresh it. The vinegar trick makes each round hold noticeably longer.
