Honey Blonde - Organic Hair Color
Honey Blonde
Colour Me Organic Premium
Certified Organic Hair Colour Powder · 3.5oz
A warm golden blonde from five organic herbs. No peroxide, no ammonia, no PPD.
Hair darker than Honey Blonde will not take it. We have tested it. Plant colour adds and never lifts, so the melanin you already have stays underneath — and dark melanin wins against a warm gold. This shade is for blonde, light brown, highlighted or greying hair.

What "100% organic" means here
Not 99%, not 99.9% — every herb in the pouch is certified organic, and there is no base powder or carrier underneath them. Each shade is vacuum-sealed to slow oxidation before you open it, and shipped by air from our production facility in India so newer stock reaches you.
A Warm, Sun-Kissed Glow from Pure Herbs
Honey Blonde creates a soft, golden tone with a naturally warm finish. Inspired by the richness of golden honey, this shade adds gentle warmth and dimension to lighter hair.

Because plant pigment layers over the colour you already have instead of replacing it, your own variation stays underneath. Under natural light the gold comes forward — the same hair, more of it visible — which is why the result reads as sun-kissed rather than applied.

This shade is for those who want a warm blonde rather than a cool or ashy one. It settles warm and stays warm — that is the shade working as intended, not a result that drifted.
How it differs from chemical colour
Going blonde with a bottle means the most lifting of any shade — peroxide dissolving the melanin, and breaking the sulphur bonds that hold the fibre together along the way. That is why lightened hair runs dry and porous, and hair is dead tissue: it cannot rebuild what the lift took.
This one doesn't lift anything. Henna bonds golden warmth to a base that was already light, so the cuticle stays shut and there is nothing to repair afterwards. That's the whole trade: it costs you the option of going lighter, and saves you everything that comes with it.
- Powder-based organic colour for men and women
- Certified organic by ECOCERT
- No peroxide, ammonia, PPD, parabens or synthetic pigment
- Works on light, lightened or greying hair only — it will not show on hair darker than this shade
- Colours grey readily; on darker hair that reads as highlights rather than coverage
- At-home application, no developer to mix
- Not suitable for anyone with a known indigo or plant-dye allergy — patch test first
What to expect
- Right after rinsing — a faint green cast over the warmth. That's the indigo before it has met the air. Temporary.
- First 12 to 24 hours — the green clears and it goes bright, more yellow-orange than the finished shade.
- Around day two — settles into warm honey. Judge your colour here, not on the first evening.
Do not blow-dry. Not while the paste is on, and not for the first 24 hours after rinsing. Dry the paste and nothing transfers; dry the hair afterwards and the colour stalls at a violet-purple partway point. On a pale base there is no depth to hide that in. Shower cap while it processes, air-dry after.

There is no version of these photos on darker hair — not because we left it out, but because we tested it and the result doesn't show. Within light hair, depth still shifts with how pale your base is, grey percentage, porosity and how long you leave it on.

A blonde depends more on its starting base than any other shade, and that is the hardest thing to judge from a photograph. First-time customers who don't get the result they expected can have a different shade sent free, or a full refund on the colour. How the assurance works →

Ingredients
Five certified organic herbs. Three carry color, one is the acid that steadies them, one makes the paste work. No base powder, no carrier, no synthetic pigment. Ingredient lists run in order of quantity — and two things about this one stand out straight away. Hibiscus comes first, which happens in no other shade of our twenty-four. And there is no colorless henna anywhere in the blend: Honey Blonde is the only one of our six blondes without it, so nothing here is taking up room to dilute the color.
Important: this shade contains indigo, which a small number of people react to. Patch test before use, especially if you have sensitive skin or have reacted to plant dyes before. Stop use if irritation occurs. 100% organic. Made in India.
FAQ
Yes. Indigo is third on the ingredient list for this shade — enough to cool henna's orange into gold, not enough to build a brown. If you have a known indigo or plant-dye sensitivity, don't use it. If you're unsure, patch test and wait 48 hours.
No. We have tested it: on hair darker than Honey Blonde itself, the result doesn't show. Plant pigment only adds — it never lifts — so the melanin you already have stays underneath, and dark melanin wins against a warm gold. If your hair is mid brown or darker and you want visible colour, Light Brown or Brown is the shade to look at.
That is the indigo before it has met the air. It sits over the warmth for a day and then clears on its own. The colour then goes bright before it settles — brighter and more yellow-orange than the finished shade — and the honey you keep arrives around day two. Judge your colour on day two, not on the first evening.
Not while the paste is on, and not for the first 24 hours after rinsing. Warmth genuinely helps this colour along, which is why a shower cap works so well — it holds warmth and moisture together. A hair dryer gives you the warmth and takes the moisture, and moisture is what carries the pigment onto the fibre and lets the reaction finish. Force-drying leaves the colour stalled at a violet-purple partway point, and on a pale base there is no depth to hide that in.
This is a five-herb blend and three of the five carry colour — but it is still a blonde, which means less pigment overall than a brown. Resistant or low-porosity hair may take it slowly. Two things help: start on genuinely clean hair with no conditioner or silicone, and give it a full hour rather than the minimum. A second application a few days later builds more depth than extending the first one.
It colours grey readily — grey has no melanin of its own to compete, so it takes plant pigment more easily than pigmented hair does. On lighter hair with greys, the result blends. On darker hair the greys will take the honey while the rest barely changes, which reads as highlights rather than coverage.
No. This is a non-oxidative plant colour with no peroxide or ammonia-type lightening agents, so it deposits colour rather than lifting your natural pigment. It cannot dye your hair lighter than your existing colour. A lighter result requires starting with a lighter base.

It's made from certified organic herbs with no synthetic additives, but any colour product can irritate some people, and indigo in particular causes reactions in a small number. Patch test before full application, especially with sensitive skin or a history of reactions to plant dyes. Stop use if irritation occurs.

The US Pouch
Ordered as Needed, Flown In, Shipped Fresh
Every pouch we sell is handled the same way, from the factory in India to your door, so that it reaches you as close to freshly made as we can manage — and so all 24 shades stay in stock.
Sealed at the factory
Dried, blended, vacuum-packed
The herbs are dried and blended at the factory and vacuum-sealed there, while the powder is fresh. Air is what ages plant powder — henna's pigment breaks down with oxygen, and air-exposed powder smells much stronger.
Flown in
By the pallet, by air
Each shade is ordered in units of 25, and the shades due for restocking are combined into a pallet of about 1,000 pouches, flown to Torrance, California — days in the air instead of months at sea.
Checked monthly
Each shade, on its own schedule
We check every shade's sales each month and forecast demand from our sales history, with the help of AI. When a shade drops below three to six months of stock, we order about a year to eighteen months' worth — enough to stay in stock, not so much that it sits.
18 months+
Left on every pouch we send
We ship the oldest stock first, and take any batch with less than 18 months left out of sale. Every order arrives with at least 18 months before its expiry date.
Applies to orders shipped by Radico USA. More on storage and dates →
