Product is not going well color wise. Also, my hair turned to purple from henna colored brown hair by using soft black color radico. Roots didn't get color at all. No doubts that this product does good nourishment to the hair.
Great, natural non toxic color, but fades very quickly. also, any certifcations to see if that is indeed non toxic would be welcome.
it smelled so terrible i was skeptical, and then for the next week any time i wet my hair to style it, even after washing it and conditioning it, the smell came back. can't hang. secondarily, it dried my hair out so much it was crispy.
Normally, my hair is incredibly resistant to color. I use this every other week and follow instructions precisely as far a mixing goes. Then I leave it in overnight. My hair is healthy and getting fuller all the time. Thanks!
I luv the champagne blonde to put on the sides, front and top of the head. My hair is long so I flip it and use the golden blonde for the underneath of my hair.
Have not been to the salon in over 2 years!!!
Tried light brown, medium brown and dark brown and always ended up very RED! Consultant suggested using a soft black and I tried it over the red and finally have medium brown hair.
My only concern is next time if I use just the soft black will it be too dark?
The product leaves your hair soft and shiny- I like it so just a matter of finding the right color to use.
Unfortunately my hair has gone bright orange and I have had to order the indigo to try and rectify it. I feel it’s unfair of me to give this product a bad review because I have had a bad experience. I am still keen to try your products so will give this a try and hope it works. Sorry I can’t give you five stars. I think it’s a great product but so far has not worked for me.
It covers the gray, but wish it wasn’t so reddish. Not really a dark brown.
I really love how it covers all my grays. Unfortunately, this color came out orange and not anywhere close to being as dark as the color showed in bright sunlight. I’ve called and sent off a request for someone to call me to assist in coming up with maybe a combination of products to get the correct hair color but so far, no one has emailed me or called me back. Since everyone’s hair is different, it would be nice to have some assistance in finding the right combo of products.
Was skeptical about the product being able to cover my completely gray hair. It did a brilliant job of covering and the color looks great. It’s a bit lighter than what I wanted, because I’m more white than gray, so I plan to order a darker color/more red (use to be strawberry blonde) for next time. It was easy to do as you put it over your entire head/hair. I’m going to be using this product from now on.
Since I was completely white, I allowed the product to sit on my hair for 2 1/2 hours and applied heat every 15-20 minutes.
It’s been two weeks and the color still looks great.
Champagne Blonde - Colour Me Organic - Certified Organic Hair Color
I mix 30% darkest blond with 70% dark brown to reduce the red and get healthy coverage of my gray hair. My natural color is medium brown. I'm at least 50% gray and this gives me about 3-4 weeks pretty good coverage for a healthy formula. This mix of colors works for me-the rep at the company helped me come up with it.
I use brown shade . Color comes out really good as desired but hair gets little dry after use . Also needs some tips on how to keep the color longer as it fades out after 3-4 wash.
I was tired of the conventional dyes irritating my face when I dyed my beard. I also hated that they use ammonia. This stuff is totally natural and the color in the hair looks more natural too! No skin irritation or chemical smells that give you a headache. A couple days after application the color had fully oxidized. Only drawback is that it takes an hour minimum to do the job. Longer if you have stubborn grays.
Hi, I have 20% of grey hair and decided to colour them with this dye which is exactly as my natural hair color is. I tried a few times following all the instructions and increased the time up to 3 hours. I was impressed each time seeing how shiny they became but there is still a little spot of greyish color persists right at my forehead line at the centre of the curlicue :( But I won’t give up and try wearing heat-activated hair cap next time… just do not know for how long to stay in it.
My scalp and hair loved this product. It did a pretty good job covering my stubborn grey hair as well.
color came out great, easy to mix & apply, plus it is non toxic for my body!
So thankful for Radico!
I followed the directions exactly and this made absolutely no difference in my hair color, just made my hair unbelievably tangled and difficult to brush even after shampooing twice.
I gave this brand a go because I recently discovered just how toxic and unsafe traditional hair coloring products really are, and unfortunately, I discovered this right after bleaching and dyeing my hair purple after years of not using any chemical processes on my hair. I always loved using vibrant hair color to express myself in the past, and I was excited to do so again, but now I'd found myself between colorings with no clear way to safely maintain my hair color. And sadly, after weeks of searching, it seems that the market for vibrant hair color that is also clean and non-toxic seems to be nonexistent.
I stumbled across Radico, and I loved the idea of using organic herbs to tint my hair instead, so I approached trying this dye out as an experiment. I didn't expect the color to turn out exactly as the swatch, but I was hopeful I'd get to continue maintaining at least one fun hair color by using this brand.
Prior using Radico last week, most of my chemically-processed color had faded, and my hair was mostly yellow from the bleach with some streaks of pink left from the faded dye. Before using Radico's dye, I also used the hair treatment powder to repair any lasting damage created from the chemical process so that my hair was starting from a healthier baseline.
When I used this violet dye last week, I read in the instructions that if your hair was previously bleached, you would probably need to do a second application since the first attempt would likely result in a greenish color, and it did. So, after the first application didn't produce the color I wanted, I waited for two days, washed my hair, and then did a second application. Both times, I let the dye sit for 90 min and applied heat 3x to activate the herbs and get the most out of the process.
It has been 5 days since the second dye application, and while it has darkened to some extent, the color is still nowhere near the color swatch shown on the package. The areas that were previously just bleached look more burgundy than violet, and the only faint purple that does show through is from the sections of my hair that still had a little pink left. The rest of my hair looks like a mix between my natural dark brunette color and soft black.
Overall, I knew that violet was a tall order from a purely herbal dye, and I'm not terribly impressed with the results. I knew that trying this color was a shot in the dark since I couldn't find any reviews of other people trying this particular color, but I'd be shocked if anyone else's results turned out to actually be violet. The color swatch feels misleading.
I may continue to use this brand for more natural coloring until the bleached areas of my hair have grown out because I love the intent and values that the brand stands for. But, to anyone who decides to give the violet a try, make sure to keep your expectations realistic. It's quite a bit of work for little payoff. I do hope that the company continues to improve their formula. Despite smelling like you have a barn on your head while it processes, I loved not having to worry that I was burning my scalp or seriously damaging my hair. I hope this review is helpful.
I love the product! It does a good job covering my grays and I especially love that it is organic and healthy for my hair.
I seem to be unable to access my subscription on the website, so I am hoping that that gets figured out soon so that I am able to make adjustments, if needed.
This is the best hair color I have ever used. So glad I found this organic color. I do it myself and keep it on 3 hours and thicker area on temples for covering gray. It looks so great and covers gray. I do have to leave on longer than 1 1/2 hours, so I put on and clean the house.
I used it to do a pre-coloring before applying a darker color, as that is the only way to actually make my hair be dark after the color treatment. It did the job just fine. My hair looked very red after having the henna on for two hours and then I rinsed it and applied the next color for another two hours and my hair looks completely dark now, which was the goal.
