I've had years of experience with "henna", but not with other plant based dyes. I had virgin hair for the past couple of years after deciding not to have bright red hair anymore and am 50/50 salt and pepper. I am just not ready to go completely au natural after all and am not wanting to go back to red... So, I sought out my options and different companies that were plant based and 100% natural as I am allergic to traditional chemical hair dyes no matter how "friendly" they say they are (I have MCAS).
I found Radico and decided on the "wheat blonde" color with realistic expectations that having low porosity hair and being that my hair is salt and pepper.... it just may not work or at least not take the color that well right off the bat which is exactly what happened.
I wish this company had more knowledge and understanding about the plant dyes that they use in their products and especially the instructions. I've read many reviews of unhappy customers that did not have a good outcome with an expected change of color. First off, plants dyes are a whole other ball game...
Any lighter colored dyes (without henna not colorless henna, but HENNA) NEED to develop OVERNIGHT before use. So, about 9-12 hours. Also, you need something acidic to activate said dye... Mix up the dye as per the instructions to an almost honey or yogurt like consistency and then add 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to the mix and stir well so that it is to a honey like consistency. Also, they say not to use boiling hot water. Please use boiling hot water since you will not be applying the dye right away. Then cover with plastic wrap! Let it set over night at room temperature on the counter for use the next morning. Then apply to your hair per instructions and cover it with the plastic cap and even Saran wrap on top of the plastic cap. Use heat periodically (this is also VERY important or use a microwavable heat cap that you can use purchased off of Amazon).
If you have low porosity hair like I do.. leave on for 7-8 hours your first time or even second time around (plan to stay home that day!). It may take up to three times to achieve the color you'd like. The first time around the color was very subtle. The second time around it was definitely more prominent! And, I will be doing it a 3rd time to achieve the color I want.
This all might sound like a major pain and too much work, but really.. it's not and it is totally worth it! You cannot replace your HEALTH! :)

I checked the ingredients as soon as I received it, and noticed seed oils is one of them. Not sure if that is bad or good. I do like the idea shampoo is a bar shampoo. I clean my hair then put rice water then rinse again for some softness and shine.

As for the frizz, since our formula is made entirely of plant-based ingredients without chemical softeners, some hair types may initially feel a bit frizzy. I brought Soft Black for my beard, There are two packets, packet-1 has to be applied first and after drying(which takes about 1 hr) clean and apply the packet-2 which takes another 1 hr to dry. The results are not immediate and product description says it takes 24-72 hours , so the beard is not black immediately .For me it stopped changing color at Brownish Red , i tried reaching help desk and no one responded my email or chat.

It was a little more difficult than regular US hair color. I had a hard time breaking up the product to a paste without using metal however I think it was worth it. I don’t want putting chemicals on my body and was truly thankful to find a clean organic product. I followed the directions to a “T” and got the results I desired. I don’t know how long it will last but as right now, it’s beautiful. I purchased dark brown and that was the outcome.

I went for the organic - the dye smells like hay and that smell persists after you rinse.
It dries out your hair significantly.
You have to leave it on for up to 90 minutes and heat with a blow dryer intermittently - not time effective and the results are average - not good coverage of the grey.
Sides of the hair turned a green tinge - the box says to retreat after 24h - the process is such its not worth the price or the time

The greenish tinge you experienced immediately after dyeing is a normal part of the indigo oxidation process—the color will deepen over the next 2–3 days as it interacts with air and moisture, eventually developing into a darker, more natural tone.
As for the grassy scent, it comes from the active herbal ingredients (such as henna and indigo) that remain in the hair temporarily to help the color set. While the scent may linger for a few days, it will gradually fade, typically within 3 to 5 days.

The hair dyes may not work for me, but the sponge is great. The sponge massages my face, and feels great. I can see and feel my face tingling, and blood circulating after use. I am wondering if I can use the washcloth for body bathing?

I did the mix with a nice paste following the instructions then let sit on the hair for over 2hrs. My hair did not color at all, showed brown and some red from past hair dye. I have to go back to Madison Reed to get the natural black look. My hair is dark, and could not understand why the soft black did not show.

The product was unusable - it was not a powder - it was a solid, hard brick. No matter how much water or attempts to break it apart into powder with utensils, it remained a solid brick.
